Mysore-Style

Mysore is a self-paced class allowing students to receive individual instruction while learning the Ashtanga Yoga practice. All levels are welcome from beginners with little to no yoga experience, to experienced practitioners looking to deepen their understanding of the practice. In the beginning, new students receive more attention. As you become more familiar with the practice, you are allowed more independence, getting adjustments and assistance only when needed.

Half Primary

In this class, students will learn the basics of led Ashtanga practice including breath, drishti (gazing), and proper vinyasa count. This class is suitable for beginners with previous yoga experience as well as anyone with an existing Ashtanga practice. Students will be guided through half of the poses of primary series with additional instruction and modifications provided so the practice is accessible to all.

Led Full Primary

Led class is an important compliment to a regular Mysore practice. It’s an opportunity to ensure that each vinyasa is being learned and practiced correctly. Following the teacher’s count and pacing is an opportunity to increase both our internal and external strength. Students will be guided through all 48 poses of the series, based on their familiarity and proficiency in the practice.

Chanting & Chai

Offered the first Saturday of every month. Share space with the AYL community through exploring this important yogic practice while sipping homemade chai. No experience required. Bring something comfortable to sit on, and chant along or just listen. Cash or Venmo donations are encouraged and all money raised goes directly to our tuition assistance fund.
