Understanding the Yamas and the Niyamas
The first two limbs of Ashtanga (eight limbs) Yoga are crucial for yoga practitioners to understand. The Yamas (restraints) and the Niyamas (observances) are foundational and provide us direction in all we encounter both on and off the mat. Let's take time to explore and discuss these very important concepts.
We'll use the book "The Yamas & Niyamas: Exploring Yoga's Ethical Practice" by Deborah Adele as a guide for our discussions.
This five-part series will take place every Sunday beginning January 5 through February 2 from 10-11:15 am. The class is FREE for AYL members (both limited and unlimited memberships), or $50 for the series for non-members to be paid at date of first class.

Full Moon Yoga Nidra
Join Kim Eisner for this special event as we observe the Full Moon day of rest in July.
Nidra means “sleep”, but differs from the state of sleep with which most of us are familiar. Through guided mental imagery combined with the comfort of resting with the support of props, a profound state of relaxation can be achieved. Bring pillows, blankets, eye covers, etc. in order to make yourself completely comfortable, then allow yourself to be guided through the ultimate relaxation experience.
Space is limited. Advanced registration is required, so click here to reserve your spot!

Half Primary Half Intermediate
In this challenging, 90-minute class, you'll be lead through Half Primary series through Navasana, then jump directly into Intermediate series starting with Pasasana and ending at Ekapada Sirsasana, followed by backbends and finishing postures. This class is most appropriate for students with no limiting injuries and who are familiar with a traditional led Ashtanga class. The class will be offered both in-person and virtually via Zoom. Register for either option here.
This class is a fundraiser for our partner, Trini Foundation. Trini offers scholarships to individuals in recovery from substance use disorder, and partners with studios like ours to make Ashtanga Yoga accessible to those on their recovery journey.
$20 suggested donation. Donations should be paid in cash or online via our donation portal.
